Theo DVD Giveaway

THEO Screenshot I'm always looking for ways to teach my children about our faith. Recently I came across a DVD called Theo  from Whitestone Media. I originally found Theo online as a free iPad app. Later I was contacted about viewing the brand new DVD with episodes that weren't included on the iPad app. Of course I said yes. I wanted to see what this new series was all about.

What is Theo?
Theo is a cartoon series developed by Mike Joens  (remember McGee and Me?) to teach children (and adults) the  good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith through a systematic teaching approach. Each DVD contains episodes based on a biblical truth. There is also curriculum developed around each DVD to help teach these lessons in Sunday School, VBS, or Children’s church. You can view their statement of faith online.

The main character, Theo, is a friendly English theologian who teaches children about the Bible. There are also two talking mice,Luther and Belfry, that live in Theo’s cottage and often help illustrate Theo’s Biblical points.

For every Theo DVD purchased, Whitestone Media and Child Evangelism Fellowship® will send a child in need their very own copy of Theo. How cool is that? You can log onto TheoPresents.com after making your own purchase, and select the region of the world you'd like another copy of Theo to be sent.
EpisodeOne_SavingFaith_th
I received Saving Faith.  In his first lesson Theo teaches what it means to have faith. There are many things people can believe in, but not all things are faith-worthy. To illustrate a life dedicated to believing in the right thing, Theo shares the example of Abraham. The Lord had favor with Abraham, and because of his faith he was greatly blessed.

What We Thought:
teacup
When we opened our DVD, we found a pretty gold package attached. Inside was a tea bag. The girls thought this was so cool and wanted to have a tea party and watch Theo.

We dusted off our old tea cups, made some chocolate chip cookies, and enjoyed our tea party. We watched the Theo DVD, which the girls enjoyed.
Theoipad
Theo is also available on the iPad and iPhone for free. This app has a fun apple-catching game plus the gospel presentation movie. It looks like future games and movies will be added.

I was impressed with the graphics and message of the DVD’s. I appreciate that this is a series built on Biblical truths. My girls enjoyed watching these movies and I liked that this was more than “entertainment”. They might not realize it, but they were hiding God’s Word in their heart. I will be getting more of these episodes when they come out.

Be sure to follow Theo on Facebook! I saw a fan code on their wall for a discount on this DVD. You will need to click through the link on their fanpage to receive the discount.
And now I’m happy to be able to share a DVD with 2 of you!

I love the story of the widow and her two mites, and how God saw it as more than all the wealth others put into the treasury.

oops, I didn't follow the instructions...My favorite Bible story is is how Mary Magdelene washed Jesus' feet with her tears and dried them with her hair. Jesus was so loving to her after all she has done. Her faith and ability to forgive herself is an encouragement to us all. :)

My favorite Bible story is from 2 Chron. 20--When Jehoshaphat called on God to save Judah from an enemy invasion and the enemy nations all turned on each other and destroyed each other.

It is hard to choose but I've always liked Jesus feeding the 5,000 with the loaves of bread and fish and having leftovers. My 6 year old son was sitting here with me so I asked him his favorite Bible story and he said - Noah's ark and Jesus' birth.

Hmmm, we've been talking a lot of Daniel in the Lion's Den (my kid's favorite right now). I've been really challenged in my faith by it as well!
