CHRISTmas Tot Activities: Nativity Box
I mentioned in a previous post that I was thinking about how I wanted to share the meaning of Christmas with my toddler and preschooler this year. I've decided to do CHRISTmas Tot school and have our own CHRISTmas Tot school box of activities (actually it will be several boxes!) I put together our nativity sensory/I spy box for the unit (everything is on sale right now at Hobby Lobby).
I placed everything in a decorative shoe box with some straw from the hobby section.
Other things I plan on adding:
piece of silk fabric to help us remember the wise men
something gold
piece of wool to represent the sheep
muslin to represent the swaddling cloth

What a great idea!
That's a neat way to share the story of Christmas.
Oh. My. Goodness! I am soooo doing this! What a great idea, and I love the I spy bottle too (in another post)!
Love the ideas! There is a winter/holiday idea contest on my early childhood website (www.theseedsnetwork.com/contest.php) - would love if you wanted to submit some of your ideas! (Winners will get gift cards to Discount School Supply). Hope you'll consider participating!
Where in Hobby Lobby did you find the nativity set? Was it with the large nativity scenes? Ornaments? In the back with the other minis? I couldn't find in ANYWHERE!!!! :-(
Leann,
I found them in the miniature ornament section. I hope you are able to find some!

Oh this is so sweet, children love "exploring and discovering". A wonderful way to introduce/ discuss the Nativity with them!

I am interested in this box and how you found the figurines to place in it. Love the idea and even with my Kindergarten child and elementary student I can see this being loads of fun.
I found all the figurines at Hobby Lobby, a local craft store.
