Weekly Homeschool Planner Giveaway

plannergivewaway
Do you go through seasons where it feels like everything  in life is in such disarray that you need to get a least one little aspect organized in order to feel better? (Please don’t let me be the only one like this---lol!) Well that’s me right now. We are trying to finish up our current school year, switch out clothes, plant a garden… blah, blah, blah—and I feel like I’m not doing any of it well. When I get like this, I know that I need to stop and tackle one area---and I chose to work on homeschool plans.
There is something therapeutic for me in planning. When I have a plan, I can see where we are and where we are headed—then I get excited. So I pulled up my new Weekly Homeschool Planner by Jolanthe and got to work planning what I hope to accomplish next year. So far I’ve worked on my oldest daughter’s plans, and some subject areas for my son and 9yr. old daughter. It felt good to plug in the information in the curriculum planning forms.

subjects that your family studies and can be saved to your computer!
* Preschool planning sheets

I appreciate that I have the option to print pages out, or just type the information directly into the document and saving it (making sure to rename the file!) I am working on setting up my binder for next year---what a sense of accomplishment! Some pages I’m printing out ahead of time and will hand-write info. Other pages I’ll be typing the info. in and then printing out.  I also plan to use the WHP as a digital record of our school-year. I love all the options.
The Weekly Homeschool Planner is only $20.00
---and can be used year after year!

Jolanthe, the creator of the WHP, is letting me share a planner with one of you!

My previous comment didn't get posted?

I want to say that I am a planner and yes sometimes I do like planning more than the actual execution because everything is within my control in my planning.

So my tip is this: Be open-minded when planning for Homeschooling.

Nice website. Very informative & lots of great helpful info for moms & homeschoolers. Great job! As far as planning, I plan 24/7! LOL! Its my favorite thing to do. Always jot down ideas or input them in a note on your cell phone. Inspiration can be hard to come by so don't let it slip away! :) I find including a short break mid-day for purposeful laughter or recess to get energy out is a must have in any planner for homeschooling. The laughter factor is especially important with older students & teens who tend to take their work more seriously or have tougher assignments & truly need a break to refresh their spirits. It goes a long way to happier kids too! Posted your giveaway on Twitter already (before you even asked I had already RT it since I thought it was a great opportunity for my followers too!), and I'm trying to send it to fb. Thanks for your insightful posts. I'll enjoy following you. Faithflower http://faithflower-joyfulheart.blogspot.com

Am I a planner? Lol, ask my hubby and kids! I love to plan so much, that I over plan! And I think my homeschool planning tip would be that planning too much can be good in a way. If you plan too much, you don't have to do it all. But this way, you are prepared to do more activities on the subject that you are learning about if your kids want to. It may also leave you ideas if you come back to the subject the next year as the kids are older.

I am definitely a planner. We have just made the final decision to homeschool for this next school year when my oldest starts kindergarten and I began researching homeschooling three years ago. I'm now getting into the nitty-gritty planning and I think this planner would fit in well. As we're just starting I don't have many tips, but I'm ready to hear others from veterans. One thing I have already learned the hard way is to relax and not push certain activities if no one is enjoying it. Perhaps if we revisit it later, we'll have more success. Thanks so much for the giveaway.

I am having so much fun planning my first "real" year of homeschooling. It is a little addictive! I am learning to be a little bit less ahead of myself - and try to plan chunks at a time instead of a whole year. I planned a whole year of preschool, and was tired of what we were doing by March. So we switched it up and I tossed the lesson plans I made last summer! Hoping to be a organized with a bit more flexibility as we venture into kindergarten! :)

I'm a planner, but I will be honest, not in the sense of writing lesson plans and I'm terrible at scheduling. I'm a planner in the sense of gathering ideas, activities, printables, cutting out lapbooks, etc ~ ykwim?

The best tip I could give is to plan something you enjoy ~ that helps me. Then my enthusiasm rubs off on my kids. If I'm not into what we are learning, chances are they aren't either.

Am I a planner. And heck yes i am because when you plan it gives you that security that everything will be alright.

II just started teaching my two year old son about five months ago. Using the standards from the school district but also adding things I would love for them to learn. My tip is patience is the key but also I found that in teaching in general children enjoy a environment where they feel like they are doing the teaching. Which is reciprocal teaching ( I'm going to school to be a teacher) I'm not saying completely by them but when you know they mastered it give them a chance to teach you what they learned . My son loves it.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to win this! It looks awesome, and I am a huge planner. I love to have lists and folders and binders, shelves, baskets, and bins. I have a closet just for homeschool things. I have to at-a-glance calenders. They both have all 12 months on them. On one I write each lesson number on the day I'd LIKE to have it done, i.e. "L.45." On the other, I fill in lesson numbers as we go. So it's the "actual" calendar. It helps me see where we are and where we need to be, if we're ahead or behind of where I want us to be.

I attempt to plan! It doesn't always go the way I plan. No homeschool planning tips from, but I love to read what others have to say!

Well I am definately a planner, but as far as homeschooling goes.....I have no clue what I am doing! :) Or at least I feel that way! Our 1st year homeschooling will start this fall. I have purchased curriculum and bookshelves and that is about as far as I have gotten! I would definately benefit from this planner! Thank you for the opportunity to win!

I am not a planner which is bad seeing as I am the main breadwinner in the family, mom, teacher, wife and housekeeper!! I need to plan school and life so much better.

So I looked through the comments and I guess we are supposed to comment on each thing separately? I hope so. Here goes...

I am a planner. I enjoy planning. The best tip I can have for anyone is to stay flexible when you plan. Give yourself leeway. For example, if you school 5 days/week, schedule only for 4. This will allow you to do make up (still school) on Friday. Same if you school 4 days, schedule 3. This will make you less crazy when something goes awry...and something *always* goes awry. :D

I am definitely a planner- although I've learned that plans often change- so don't plan way too far in advance, and be flexible about making changes!

I am a planner but I haven't "officially" started homeschooling yet. So, my tips are to be taken with a grain of salt. But I guess the thing I do most often is make a list and cross off as much as possible before I start a new list.
